Space Transformers was a weeklong workshop onSite in Salo Finland, that involved students of architecture and students from the local high school. The main aim of the workshop – or the production – was to work with an immersive and gamebased learning strategy that would work “in, with and for” a neighbourhood or city
Space Transformers was also an important step in developing the concept of “active space” – more here.
It was the result of 3 years of experimentation as part of the Urban Education Live – UEL – project an European research project into new models for the collaboration between educational institutions and local communities.
Most of the experimentation and development of new pedagogies and methods took place in Salo, Finland with an important exception of a 2 week workshop in Venice in 2018
